볼리비아 라파스 인근, 고산지대에 위치한 엘 알또 베레아교회는 개척 6년 차를 맞이한 작지만 신실한 교회입니다.

고산지역의 뜨거운 태양과 차가운 바람을 견디며 예배를 드려온 성도님들의 간절한 소망은 지붕이 있는 교회당에서 함께 예배드리는 것이었습니다.

비가 오는 날에도 피할 곳 없이 찬양하던 성도님들의 모습을 보며, 릿온은 작은 예배당을 지어드리기 위한 후원 모금을 시작하게 되었습니다.

이렇게 가난한 마을에 교회 건물이 생기면, 그것은 단지 예배당 그 이상이 됩니다.

예배처소는 마을을 살리는 귀한 거처가 되며, 컴패션과 같은 단체가 들어와 아이들을 위한 교육을 지원할 수 있고, 마을 주민들에게는 약품과 생필품을 나누는 공급지가 될 수 있습니다.

교회를 세우는 것은 단순한 건축이 아니라, 한 마을에 소망을 심는 일입니다.

Nestled in the highlands near La Paz, Bolivia, Beroea Church in El Alto is a small but faithful congregation now in its sixth year since being planted.

For years, the members have worshiped under the scorching sun and bitter cold of the highlands, longing and praying for the day they could gather under a roof. Even when it rained, they had no shelter—yet they sang and praised without hesitation.

Witnessing their dedication, Lit On Mission has begun a support campaign to help build a small but sturdy church building.

In this impoverished village, a church building means far more than a place to worship. It becomes a life-giving hub for the entire community—a place where organizations like Compassion can come in to provide educational support for children, and where essential supplies such as medicine and food can be distributed to those in need.

Building a church here is more than just a construction project. It is the planting of a lighthouse of hope in a dark and forgotten place.
